Copenhagen Wolves have taken a giant step towards reaching the knockout stages following a comfortable 16-8 victory over k1ck.
With VeryGames expected to take the top place in the group, both CPH Wolves and k1ck knew just how important this match was as winning it would practically put them through to the playoffs.
Following their recent online performances, k1ck were expected to put up more of a fight, but this result they still have a long way to go in their quest to become an international top team.
CPH Wolves started off on the Terrorist side and aggressive was the word for them in the pistol round, the Danish team having made a split long/catwalk that k1ck could not really do anything about.
In the third round, the Portuguese team went for a buy, hoping to catch CPH Wolves' players by surprise, but that simply did not happen as the Danes remained in the driving seat for the next couple of rounds.
Friis turned in a good display
With the score set at 5-0 in favour of CPH Wolves, k1ck almost scored their first round of the match as Hélder "coach" Sancho took down four players in a remake on the A bombsite, but the Brazil-born player did not have a defuse, so the bomb went off.
The Danish team would go on to take one more round, making it 7-0 in their favour, and it was only at that point that k1ck started to react, with Ricardo "fox" Pacheco racking up important AWP kills.
k1ck were able to string six rounds together, reducing the deficit to 6-7, but the last two rounds went to CPH Wolves, who went into the break with a comfortable three-round lead.
On the Terrorist side, k1ck were simply dreadful and their players looked out of sync most of the times. Christopher "mUttt" Fernandes' ace on the A site, which included winning a one-on-three situation, was a moment of pure brilliance, but one which showed that k1ck's teamplay was not there on the T side.
